The Prime Minister’s Office is part of the British Cabinet Office. Its role is to advise and support the prime minister, and to help advance the government’s overall policy agenda and strategic priorities.
This volume contains selected ministerial records from the period 1943–1961, as well as some material from as early as 1938–1942. The records encompass the premierships of Winston Churchill, Clement Attlee, Anthony Eden, and Harold Macmillan. Subjects covered include imperial policy, Anglo-American mutual aid agreements, Anglo-Soviet trade, and general East-West trade.
