Britain's relationship with Spain and France can be characterised as one of conflagration and conciliation as they fluctuated between war and peace negotiations. Commencing with a list of papers respecting the relationship between Britain, France and Spain. Other items include extracts of letters, copies of memorials and representations relating to encroachments committed by the French in North America. Alongside, the correspondence of the Earl of Albemarle, Colonel Yorke, the Duke of Newcastle, the Earl of Holderness, the Dukes of Bedford, Messrs DeCosne, Shirley and Mildmay, Sir Thomas Robinson, Governor Cornwallis, and Duke de Mirepoix.
