These diaries depict the experiences of Allied Prisoners of War (POWs) who were held in camps in East Africa, Turkey, and aboard a German prison ship. Some prisoners were captured in battles that are detailed in other volumes within this collection, such as Ypres, Loos, Béthune, and the Somme. Several of the diaries delve into events that preceded capture.
